Underwater Wireless Optical Communication Channels with Directed Light and Diffused Light Transmissions in the Visible Spectrum
In this paper, we are doing channel modeling for underwater optical channels. Particularly, we have focused on received intensity of signal at the receiver for different water types, link distance and various parameters of transmitter and receiver. We found Monte Carlo an appropriate approach for simulation of projectile movement of emitted photons propagating in ocean water towards the receiver. We have also shown how the shadowing effect affects the received intensity in some cases. These simulated results are of great advantage to design parameters for different underwater wireless optical communication systems.
